Did You Know?

When the concept of the Andy Griffith Show was created by Sheldon Leonard and Make Room for Daddy star Danny Thomas,  Andy agreed to star in the show and ended up with a half-ownership. Andy had not been pursuing TV up to that point, but focusing on film roles in the wake of A Face in the Crowd, No Time For Sergeants and  Onionhead.
